5 Signs You’re Aging Too Fast and What You Can Do to Stop It

A very depressing study just came out and showed that by the time women reach the age of 51, they feel invisible to the opposite sex.  Is this really true or could it be that the herbal supplement company who conducted the study wants to sell their menopause supplements?  Hmm…head scratcher…

Motives aside, the fact that so many women still do feel that way is true to a certain extent.  Our media culture is designed for the thin, the young and the beautiful.  However, real life culture is set up to make it easy for us to be the opposite.  We have convenience foods that increase our sugar and ultimately make us fat.  The inflammation caused by those foods makes us age faster and have less energy.  And our lives are so high paced and hectic, we think if we slow down we’ll drop all the balls we’ve been juggling.  But nothing can stop us from being beautiful, except for us.

When we choose to accept the status quo of having low energy, aches and pains because we’re just “getting older” we’re perpetuating the anti-aging problem.  We do have control over how we age and we need to stop our excuses for why we’re not aging the way we want to.  We need to put the time and effort into ourselves and be that vibrant, beautiful person that we should be.

1.  Feeling Depressed or Anxious

We all feel sad or anxious from time to time.  There’s a difference between occasional sadness and anxiety or depression disorders, however much of it is in our control.  When our hormones are out of whack, we can slip into these types of disorders.  Obviously, for women, our hormones cycle regularly and plummet with the onset of menopause, but eating well and exercising help to combat these issues.

2.  Increased Belly Fat

Like anxiety and depression, an increase in belly fat is in large part due to a hormonal imbalance.  When insulin, leptin, cortisol and human growth hormone (HGH) are not balanced properly, we can exercise til we’re blue in the face and it won’t get rid of that stubborn belly fat.  But keeping our blood sugar levels consistent by avoiding unnecessary starchy carbs, eating the right fats and exercising properly will help get rid of that belly once and for all.

3.  Drop in Stamina

We inevitably slow down with age, but not nearly as fast as we see it today. 4. Losing Muscle

Loss of energy plus decreased HGH levels equals muscle loss.  It’s a vicious cycle.  In order to break it, we have to take care of our bodies by putting in the effort.  Be real with yourself.  You’re not going to magically improve sagging skin and muscles overnight.  It takes work.  You have to commit to improving yourself.  Your health and vitality is totally worth it.

5.  Increased Sensitivity to Temperature

Do you get cold when it’s 71 degrees?  (No, I won’t break into a “When Harry Met Sally” monologue…)  Or do you freak out when it gets too hot?  This may be confused with signs of menopause, but it might actually be a decrease in circulation and ability to regulate your body temperature.  This temperature sensitivity has also been associated with decreased levels of HGH.
